Responsibilities:
- Operating a conventional turning machine (lathe) to produce high precision parts to customer specifications.
- Accurately positioning the components into the machine
- Identifying the operations which will machine (cut) the components to the required size
- To check own quality , measuring first -offs before proceeding with any additional machining with hand measuring equipment such as verniers and micrometers.
- Performs preventative maintenance to properly maintain equipments
- Responsible for housekeeping within the work area
- Ensuring all work/task/procedures/documentations meet the requirements of ISO 9001
Qualifications, Skills requirements:
- Ideally with minimum of 3-5 years post experience working in the same/similar environment
- Ability to use manual and CNC turning lathes
- Ability to use lifting equipment
- Ability to read, interpret and communicate technical drawings
- Manual Handling Training and Overhead Crane experience
- Reliability, precision and attention to detail
- Basic knowledge and use of PC’s with particular reference to data input
- Experienced within the metal cutting or manufacturing industry
